"I registered for a half marathon being held on February 3rd, 2008 and instead of my normal training schedule of "logging miles" I concentrated on the CATZ training sessions. Between Dec.'07 and Feb. '08 I did only 3 runs of 10-12 miles. However, since joining CATZ, I have religiously attended from 2 to as many as 5 sessions per week. During this time I have seen my "core" strength increase, my sprinting and recovery time improve. Well, I ran the Surf City USA half Marathon in cold blowing rain on Sunday morning February 3rd. To my surprise and excitement, I felt GREAT the entire race and turned in a Personal Best of 1:43:21 which crushed my previous best time by approximately 15 minutes! My next full marathon is in April and I can't wait to see how I do then! "

Goals for next year: I will doing a Rim-to-Rim-to-Rim hike of the Grand Canyon starting on the south side.
Athletic Achievement: I just participated in my 1st Pat's Run. My goal was to finish in under 40 minutes....I did it in 38:26!
How you got started with CATZ: A friend got me to participate in Fitness Challenge 3. The CATZ workouts are setup for you to push yourself. The more you push, the better the results!

Any pre-game or pre-practice rituals or routines? Superstitions?
I always like to show up to my CATZ workouts early enough so I can stretch out.

Most memorable moment.
The most memorable sports moment for me is when the Chicago Bulls won 6 championships

Describe a moment or obstacle you have had to overcome. What did you learn from that experience?
My weight was my biggest obstacle. CATZ got me to change my diet and with that,the weight started coming off.

Who is the most influential person/people in your life?
My son....He decided one summer he was tired of his weight and he lost 55 lbs by changing his diet.
