Getting to know Maddie Savant:
Any pre-game or pre-practice rituals or routines? Superstitions?
I start my mental game before the physical game begins. I try to focus and visualize a successful game. I picture myself killing a ball and I give myself the confidence that I am going to perform well in the upcoming game.
Most memorable moment.
When David Beckham saw me working out at CATZ and said "she's quite an athlete!", what an amazing compliment! I was so excited.
What college do you hope to attend?
My goal is to play division one volleyball. I am open to any university that would allow me to play at this level while pursuing my academic goals.
Specific academic goals or career choices in mind?
I am undecided on a career path, but what I am passionate about is developing as both an athlete and student.
Describe a moment or obstacle you have had to overcome. What did you learn from that experience?
I am consistently the youngest player on the teams I play for. As a result, I've had to prove that I am worthy of the respect and standing that older players receive simply because of their seniority. But in the long run, this has actually worked to my advantage, as it has instilled in me a strong work ethic and unwavering dedication.
Who is the most influential person/people in your life?
Cam, Steve, Matt & Beckham!
